Nigerian Policeman found dead in his car

The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday affirmed the passing of a policeman who was discovered dead in his Volkswagen car in Ikeja.

Empty cans of pesticide and some medication, suspected to have been taken by the deceased, were reportedly found inside the car.

As indicated by an announcement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joseph Offor, the policeman was said to be joined to Safer Highways Patrol in Lagos.

“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to affirm the story that a policeman, Cpl. Agi Elias, with power No. 386982, was discovered dead in his Volkswagen Passat car.

“The car, with Registration No. 489 AY, was stopped at the passageway door of High Barracks, Ikeja, today, Nov. 10, 2015 by 0730hrs.

“The Cpl., Agi Elias, until his sudden passing was joined to Safer Highway Patrol, Lagos yet on Corporal to Sergaent advancement course at Police Training School (PTS), Ikeja.

“The previously stated course arrived at an end Nov. 9, 2015.

“Preparatory examinations carried out so far uncovered that tablets and some noxious substances littered around his carcass, while still inside his car.

“His body has been recuperated and saved at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) funeral home.

“The examination of the case has been assumed control by the Homicide area of SCID, Yaba, with a perspective to finding out the reason for his demise,” the announcement said.
